Mr. Chad D. Haught

Chad D. Haught grew up in Follansbee; graduated from Brooke High School (2000); Washington & Jefferson College (2004), earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from the W&J Department of Economics; and the West Virginia University College of Law (2007), earning his Juris Doctorate Degree. Mr. Haught maintains his law license in the State of West Virginia and was admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of West Virginia. In 2007, Mr. Haught became employed by the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals to serve as a First Judicial Circuit Court Law Clerk. In August 2009, Mr. Haught became employed as an associate attorney in a law firm located in Wheeling, West Virginia, where he practiced law for seven (7) years. Mr. Haught served as counsel and associate counsel on numerous cases, which concerned both civil and criminal law, and was privileged to argue before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals.

On November 2, 2010, Mr. Haught was first elected to serve as a member of the Brooke County Board of Education, and he was re-elected to that position in May 2014. While serving the BOE, Mr. Haught had the privilege to serve as the Board’s RESA VI representative, Northern Panhandle Community Criminal Justice Board representative, and was voted Vice President by the Board's members during his second term. While serving the citizens, employees, and students of the Brooke County School District, Mr. Haught continually strived to act in the best interests of the students and found no greater satisfaction then providing an accountable and hard working school district for the benefit of the county's children, including his own. This lead Mr. Haught to want more interaction with the students of Brooke County in order to share his knowledge and work experiences.

In August 2017, Chad Haught began teaching Business Law, Accounting I, and Accounting II at Brooke High School, and is a member of the BHS Business Department. Mr. Haught is co-chair of the BHS Future Business Leaders of America club, served as Faculty Senate President from 2017-2019, and received his teaching certificate from WVU Technology.

Chad Haught is a resident of Weirton, Brooke County, West Virginia, where he resides with his wife, Dawn, and their three (3) children. Mr. Haught enjoys being the coach of his children's youth soccer teams; visiting amusement parks, the beach, country music concerts; and crushing it in his fantasy football leagues.
