Ms. Myers’ 6th and 7th Grade Science at BMS
Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year at Brooke Middle School! I am looking forward to getting to know all of you. Throughout the year we will study a variety of science topics.
In sixth grade science, we will build upon students’ understanding from earlier grades and provide deeper understandings in six major content topics: Weather and Climate; Space Systems; Waves and Electromagnetic Radiation; Matter and Energy in Organisms and Ecosystems; Interdependent Relationships in Ecosystems; and Human Interactions.
Students should come prepared to class with their book, notebook and pencil every day. Sometimes they may need to use colored pencils and scissors for class. There may be times during the year which I will ask them to bring something from home to use in class (i.e. paper towel roll cardboard, an empty egg carton, empty 2L pop bottle). If I am asking them for something, they will be given plenty of time to bring it into school.
Students will earn grades by completing each of the single grade activities: bellringers, class work, lab sheets and homework. They will also have final projects or tests which will be a double grade.
Please review the 6th and 7th grade classroom management plan.

It is going to be a great year! Ms. Myers
