Mr. Chuck McCoy

I am a Brooke High School graduate, Class of 2000. I attended Bethany College where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2004. At Bethany I spent much of my time working as a research assistant in the Biology department, studying circadian rhythms in fruit flies. I was a member of Beta Beta Beta (national biology honor society), Psi Chi (national psychology honor society), and Gamma Sigma Epsilon (national chemistry honor society). I later attended West Liberty University where I earned a second degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with an emphasis in General Science. While at West Liberty, I was also a member of Chi Beta Phi (national science honorary).

After graduating from West Liberty, I was hired by Ohio County Schools, where I spent the first four years of my career teaching 7th grade science. I also worked as an Area Supervisor for the after-school Anchor Program at Triadelphia Middle School for three of those four years, and spent three summers working as a Technology Integration Specialist for Ohio County's Extended School Year program from 2010 to 2012. When an opening in the science department at Brooke High School was advertised in 2013, I jumped at the chance to return to my alma mater to continue my career.
