Mrs. Carla (Ringer) Stone

Hello!

In 1996, I graduated sixteenth in my class from Weir High School and continued my education at West Liberty (State College) University where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English Education and a minor in Theater in 2001. I completed my Masters in Communication Instruction from West Virginia University in 2012.

I began my teaching career at St. Paul School in Weirton (2002-2004) and continued at Wheeling Park High School (2004-2010). I came to Brooke High School in the fall of 2010 and am proud to be a Bruin! I currently teach English 12, Public Speaking, and Theatre classes. I am the Drama Club sponsor and the Forensics Coach, and I enjoy directing both plays and musicals for our students to perform for our community.

While teaching is my career, and one I feel very passionately about, I also enjoy scrapbooking, cooking, trivia, and reading. After my son Benjamin was born in 2008, I became obsessed with all things sports. I am the manager of The Weirton Hoopies – my Fantasy Football League; weekends for me are filled with watching football, baseball, basketball, and hockey. My son Ben is a vivacious little man who loves Thor, Minecraft, and playing video games. My husband Joe and I were married in 2005 and he loves to play MMORPG, particularly World of Warcraft. He enjoys trying to train our dog, a beagle mix named Waylon, as well as helping herd our highly affectionate cats, Cameron, Agnes, and Henry. I have the unique opportunity to live next to my parents, Molly and Carl Ringer, who are retired and whose humor warrants them to have their own sitcom. I will reference their shenanigans quite frequently during the school year. I also love coffee, chocolate, pretzels, all things British, and 90s alternative music. But most of all, I love teaching!
