Mrs. Tara Ferguson

Hello!  I am a speech-language pathologist currently working at Brooke Middle School grades 5-8. I am a 1995 Brooke High School graduate.  After graduation, I attended West Liberty State College and earned my Bachleor's of Science degree in 1998 in the area of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology with a minor in education.  From here, I attended California University of Pennsylvania to earn my Master's of Science degree in Communication Disorders.  I completed this degree in December 2000. The following year, I worked in a medical setting and earned my Certificate of Clinical Competence.  I was hired with Brooke County Schools in August of 2001.  This is my 18th year of employment.  Within my first two years of employment, I gained an additional 45 hours of graduate studies in my field and was Nationally Board Certified.  I work with students who have disorders in the following areas: phonological processes, articulation, speech fluency, voice, receptive and expressive language, auditory processing, and social issues.

Aside from being a Brooke County employee, I have a daughter, Brianna and a son, Ben who are students here in Brooke County. Brianna is a ninth grader at Brooke High School and plays soccer for the Lady Bruins.  Ben is a seventh grader at Brooke Middle School and plays football for the Jr. Bruins.  My husband of 17 years is also a 1995 graduate of Brooke County Schools and we are lifelong residents of Brooke County.  I have two toy Goldendoodles, Addie and Bella, one hermit crab, spidey. I volunteer whenever possible.  I assist with the BMS Leo's Club, am a member of the BMS LSIC committee, and an active member of the PTSA.  I enjoy attending my children's sports events and musical concerts, watching a good movie, attending St. John's Catholic Church, and going on family vacations.
