Mrs. Diane Rasz

After graduating from Brooke High School and completing my degree at West Liberty State College, I returned to Brooke County and eventually ended up back at Wellsburg Middle School.  One of the biggest reasons I'm in education today is because of the wonderful experiences I had as a student in Brooke County and the fantistic teachers that influenced me along the way.  This being my 29th year in Brooke County Schools, I find myself in a new position.

In my time at WMS, I taught 8th grade reading and 6th grade reading/language arts.  I was the 6th grade Math Field Day coach for many years. I also coached both girls and boys basketball.  I was the yearbook advisor, the county coordinator for West Virginia Young Writers, and the webmaster for the Brooke County Schools' website.  Currently, I am the Communications Coordinator for Brooke County.  This challenging position continued my responsibilities as webmaster. Additionally, I oversee our social media accounts, work with local news media, prepare press releases, and orchestrate public relations for the county.

A life-long resident of Wellsburg, I live here with my husband Mike, our son Aleksey, who is a sophomore at Brooke High School, and the king of the house, our Bernese Mountain Dog, Deuce!  I enjoy music, reading, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.  I'm an avid sports fan and follow the Mountaineers, Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers, but my favorite team is whatever team Aleksey is playing on.
