Mrs. Ashleigh Gurskey
Hi everyone! Welcome to Mrs. Gurskey's Page. I am so proud to be a teacher in Brooke Intermediate North. My position, Instructional Support Specialist, allows me to work with both 3rd and 4th grade to help in the classroom to reach expectations and goals. When I graduated from Weir High School in 2007, I had high hopes of becoming a teacher. Since I was a little girl playing school with my sisters, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I went for my undergrad at West Liberty University and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education with minors in Special Education and Early Education. In the fall of 2012, I went back to further my knowledge and recieved my Autism Endorcement. In 2014, I decided to set my goals high and go back to college in order to get my masters degree. I went to Franciscan University and graduated in 2017 with a Masters of Science in Education.
While this is my 5th year working for Brooke County Schools, I previously worked at Hooverson Heights Primary as a special education teacher for four years. Currently at Brooke Intermediate North, this year is full of changes but is shaping up to be the best yet. I look forward to working with all of our students in the classrooms in 3rd and 4th grade. I love being able to come to work and show the love I have for teaching every day.
In my spare time, there is nothing I love more than spending time with my family. I live in Weirton, WV with my husband Aaron, our daughter Jordin, and our Labradoodle Tucker. These three keep me busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love to go shopping, get my nails done, watch television, and travel with my family. We are avid Pittsburgh fans in my household and watch the Steelers and the Penguins and attend games as we can.
