"The aim of art education in the public schools is not to make more professional artists but to teach people to live happier, fuller lives; to extract more out of their experience, whatever that experience may be."
Hi :) I started out my teaching career not so long ago. Through the help of West Liberty University I received the push needed to enter the field of teaching. After graduating in 2014, I began my first steps as a substitute teacher for both Brooke and Hancock County Schools. Despite being a Hancock County Schools native, I found it more than easy to join the Brooke County School team. I am currently the elementary art teacher at Franklin, Beechbottom, Wellsburg, and Colliers Primary Schools. I love teaching and I will continue to do so as long as possible.
I promise all of my students that art will be made every time we enter the art room. Some art we may love, some art we may hate, but we will always have fun making art in the process. I am lucky enough to call hanging out with some pretty cool K-4 artists a job and I enjoy every day to the fullest. This year in the art room we will be studying the artists of the past, multicultural art, and the art elements.
In my free time I enjoy crafting, antique hunting, being outdoors, and traveling. Most importantly I enjoy teaching art!
